
Shrewsbury police investigated several reports of theft and mischief along Broad Street last week.
A theft was reported from Staples, 1021 Broad St., on Jan. 29, with merchandise worth $999.91 stolen, police said. That same day, a copy machine was damaged, worth $30,000. Authorities also were called to Sal's Original Meats Deli & Catering at 1075 Broad St. on Jan. 28 to investigate the theft of aluminum racks worth $400, police said.
Police also investigated the theft of $100 from a purse at the Shrewsbury Borough School, 20 Obre Place, on Jan. 28.

Authorities also made the following arrests last week:
- Antonio Ramos, 50, of Red Bank was arrested on a drunken driving charge on Jan. 30 in the area of Newman Springs Road.
- Thomas L. Armstrong, 31, of Red Bank was arrested Jan. 30 in the area of Sycamore Avenue on a contempt of court charge.
- Johathan M. Jones, 27, of Tinton Falls was arrested Jan. 31 in the area of Shrewsbury Avenue on a contempt of court charge.
- Gene V. Marcelus, 24, of Asbury Park was arrested Jan. 31 in the area of Route 35 on a contempt of court charge.
