MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Local officials are seeking donations for their Sock Drive, which aims to support community members facing homelessness.

State Senator Vin Gopal, Assemblywoman Margie Donlon and Assemblywoman Luanne Peterpaul have organized the drive, which is accepting donations of socks, underwear and shirts for all ages and sizes.

The drive is set to run through Jan. 31, with all donations going toward local shelters and nonprofits.

To drop off donations, you can reach out to communications@njld11.com to coordinate a pick-up and drop-off location, officials said.

Donations are no longer being coordinated through an Amazon wish list due to a recent fire at the lawmakers' Tinton Falls office, officials said.

The building's second floor was severely impacted by the fire, Gopal told Patch, with the ceiling collapsed and water coming through to the first floor.

Though the building was damaged in the incident, officials said donations made before the fire were not impacted.
