SHREWSBURY, NJ — Spring is here and the outdoor, walkable Grove and Grove West At Shrewsbury are making a few tweaks to store locations.

It's a destination shopping center: You'll see the creative landscape arrangements - plants and seasonal flowers in bloom - as you stroll The Grove. And you'll have some unique spots for a bite to eat to fortify you as you shop.

The Grove at Shrewsbury has a definite "upscale" flair - for both clothing, home furnishings and more.

  • Ann Taylor (former location at Grove has closed) is relocating to the end cap portion of the old Harmon's space at Grove West.
  • J Jill (still operating from its current Grove location) is relocating to the balance of old Harmons space at Grove West.
  • Banana Republic (currently operating on the south end cap of Grove) is relocating to the former Ann Taylor space at Grove. The store will be a whole new experience - they are opening elevated lifestyle stores which you can get a sense of online.

So who will fill the Banana Republic space? Well, the space is accounted for but it's not ready to be announced just yet, as with a couple of other spots that are leased, the spokesperson said.

"We have a couple other puzzle pieces at play that we can’t announce just yet despite being leased. We have to move in step with the leasing process and our tenants’ own communications processes and protocols," said Amanda Cheslock of Metrovation East, developer and manager of the space.

But she said The Grove is 100 percent leased.

The center is considered a "lifestyle center," containing 40 stores. It has a gross leasable area of 150,000 square feet, according to its website.

Apart from the lush gardens, there are brick walkways, comfortable seating areas, community events and individual storefronts.
