4-Year-Old Drowns At New Jersey Home: Prosecutor

The child was pronounced dead at an area hospital Friday night, authorities said.

WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ - A four-year-old drowned at a North Jersey residence Friday evening, authorities said.

The drowning was reported on Heidi Lane in Woodcliff Lake via a 911 call at around 5 p.m., the Woodcliff Lake Police Department and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit said in a joint statement.

The child was taken to Valley Hospital and ultimately pronounced dead, police said.

An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Woodcliff Lake Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Deputy Chief Steven Regula is ongoing.

No other information is available at this time, police said.
