'Achieve 5K Goals' With Beginner Running Program In Ridgewood
A running program for beginners is back in Ridgewood and Glen Rock, and anyone interested can enroll now to prepare for a 5K in October.
RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A popular 8-week run program geared toward beginners is back and will begin training at the end of August in Ridgewood and Glen Rock.
Runners of all abilities are welcomed, and no prior experience is required, the program sponsor, the North Jersey Masters Running Club, said in a post on the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
"All we ask is that you bring heaps of enthusiasm" to each workout, and complete mid-week running assignments in preparation for a 5K running event, North Jersey Masters said on RunSignup.

"Make yourself proud on race day as you put your new skills to the road and achieve your 5K goals," the club said.

Enrollment includes weekly training, special speaker presentations and expert advice, race entry and a one-year membership to the running club, which supports more than 400 runners of every age and fitness level.
Club volunteers and a certified running coach will guide each runner throughout their journeys to the finish line, the club said. Runners can choose either Wednesday or Sunday morning classes in either Ridgewood or Glen Rock.
"We want you to experience the joy of running and to make it a permanent lifestyle," the club said.
