American Dream Reveals Opening Date For Indoor Water Park

The Meadowlands mega-mall also said some of its retail stores will begin opening soon.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – American Dream has finally revealed an opening date for its giant indoor water park.

Now, the park – which will include the world's largest indoor water coaster, a free fall slide with a 70-foot drop, a lazy river and a 1.5-acre wave pool, will be open for previews on March 19 and a limited number of tickets are on sale now online.

According to the mall's website, tickets for guests ages 10 and up are $99 each. For children between the ages of 3 and 9, admission costs $89 and those 2 and under can get in for free. A “Twilight” pass – which is valid two hours prior to park closing, is $74.

“We can’t wait for guests to visit DreamWorks Animation Water Park and experience the completely unique, jaw-dropping and awe-inspiring destination that we have created,” Don Ghermezian, Co-CEO of American Dream, said in a press release.

According to the mall, the world’s “first and only DreamWorks Animation Water Park” will be open year-round and offer experiences like: Shrek’s Sinkhole Slammer, Kung Fu Panda’s Temple of Awesomeness, the world’s largest indoor wave pool, a lazy river, surfing, luxury cabanas and private party rooms.

American Dream, the massive $5 billion shopping and entertainment venue in the Meadowlands, opened in October 2019. For now, Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, IT'SUGAR candy store, Big SNOW indoor ski park and an NHL-size ice rink are open to the public.

Other attractions, shopping and dining will follow over the next several months.

On Thursday, Ghermezian said the mall is looking forward to "welcoming a new audience to the property with the introduction of retail, opening some of the largest flagship stores globally.”

American Dream did not say which stores are among the first that'll be opening March 19. More shops will open throughout the year and in September, The Collections, the mall's luxury wing, will debut.

Other attractions should also be ready for guests this spring, including an 18-hold Angry Birds Mini Golf Course and LEGOLAND Discovery Center. New Jersey SEA LIFE, the giant aquarium being built at American Dream, recently revealed a grand opening date of April 23.
