Anais Can't Make it in Ridgewood, Does Fine in Westfield, Morristown

Store having "Going out of business" sale through September.

There's just not enough business to sustain boutique clothing store Anais Boutique on E. Ridgewood Ave. any longer, a sharp contrast to sister stores and , says owner Aiden Tolouie.

His flourescent signs in the window say it all – "Going out of business; up to 70 percent off!"

"Landlords are very greedy in this town," Tolouie said in a recent conversation with Patch. According to the retail clothing store owner, things are going very well at his other stores. Not so much in Ridgewood.

Though he declined to say how much his rent was, Tolouie said it was "substantial" and the landlord several times declined to negotiate.

"I'm disappointed," he said of the closing. "I had a good following but it just wasn't enough. I'm sorry for my followers. It would be great if people could come by and support the store before we close."
