There are reports of a bald eagle right in our own back yard. Several persons told Patch they've fielded reports that at least one bald eagle can be seen at the corner of Godwin and Lake Street, across from Maltbie Ave. near the Midland Park border.
Don Torino, President of the Bergen County Audobon Society said such sightings in the area are occurring with greater frequency.
According to Torino, there are five nesting pairs in Bergen County. The growing numbers are all thanks to the landmark environmental laws passed over four decades ago, he said.
