Bergen Community College: From Broadway To Bergen, Stitt To Perform

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The Bergen Institute for the Creative Arts at Bergen Community College will host “An Evening with Georgia Stitt … and Friends” to celebrate the award-winning composer and lyricist’s work on Thursday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre at the Paramus campus (400 Paramus Road). Special guest Elena Shaddow will also perform at the one-night-only event. Admission is complimentary and open to the public. Donations to Maestra, an organization founded by Stitt to promote gender equity for composers and performers in the musical theatre industry, are appreciated. Stitt, a composer, lyricist, music director, pianist and music director known for her original musicals has also worked on the productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Titanic and Annie. Shaddow, a veteran of Les Miserables, will join her at the Bergen event alongside the College’s chorus and voice students.

Stitt represents the College’s 2024-25 “Distinguished Guest Artist.” The annual program of the Bergen Institute of the Creative Arts and performing arts departments invites artists to campus to engage with students, faculty, staff and the community. Previous guests have included Philip Glass, Suzanne Vega, Olympia Dukakis and Doors drummer John Densmore.
