Bergen Community College: No Doubt, Parable Tackles 1960s Societal Change

Directed by theater professor Jim Bumgardner, Doubt, A Parable, stars three Bergen alumni, Christine Dunning (’18), Ray Parente (’20) and Jordyn Grier-Parham (’24) alongside current student Francesca Muffoletto.

Set against the backdrop of 1960s America, a period of political and social change, Doubt, A Parable, tells the story of a progressive young priest’s conduct that comes under question by a deeply traditional school principal, Sister Aloysius Beauvier. The actions and motivations of the young priest and the nun arouses suspicion as a battle of wills mounts.

Performances take place on Friday, June 13; Saturday, June 14; Thursday, June 19; Friday, June 20; and Saturday, June 21 at 7:30 p.m., with matinee performances on Saturday, June 14 and Saturday, June 21 at 2 p.m.
