Bergen County Man, 33, Charged In Route 46 Hit-And-Run That Injured 2
The driver of a pickup truck that crashed into a Honda on Route 46, injuring 2, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Bergen County man, 33, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident after striking a car on Route 46 on Sunday, leaving two people with serious injuries.
Miguel A. Delacruz Romero of Lodi was charged with third-degree leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday.
Prosecutors said that on Sunday, July 14, the Little Ferry Police Department responded to a serious two-car motor vehicle accident on Route 46 and notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit.

A 2019 Dodge pickup truck, later revealed to have been operated by Romero, was traveling east on Route 46 when it struck the rear of a 2022 Toyota sedan, prosecutors said.
The sedan's two passengers were seriously injured, prosecutors said.

Detectives traced the truck to Romero on Monday, prosecutors said.
He was also given several motor vehicle violation summonses.
He was sent to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack pending a detention hearing, prosecutors said.
