Bergen County Man 'Cyber-Harassed' 7 Victims Via Internet: Prosecutor

A man has been charged with using the internet to harass 7 people, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Hawthorne man has been charged with harrassing seven different people using social media, prosecutors said last week.

Christopher J. Greig, 43, of Hawthorne was arrested on Nov. 22 and charged with multiple counts of cyber-harassment, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said that in September, the Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit was "alerted to a pattern of obscene, online messages sent to various victims."

An investigation determined that Greig used the internet to send pornography and obscene messages to seven victims on numerous occasions from July through September of this year.

He was charged with seven counts of fourth-degree cyber-harassment, prosecutors said.

He was located and arrested by the Glen Rock police and brought to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court, prosecutors said.
