Bergen County Man Sexually Assaulted Minor Multiple Times: Prosecutors

A 44-year-old man was charged for sexually assaulting a child in Bergen County on multiple occasions, said prosecutors.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Hackensack man was arrested earlier this month for sexually assaulting a minor "on muliple occasions," prosecutors said.

Florelvi Paulino Vasquez, 44, was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare
of a child, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said that last Nov. 9, the Hackensack Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that had occurred in the past.

An investigation determined that Vasquez sexually assaulted and endangered the juvenile in Hackensack on different occasions between November 2017 and November 2018.

Vasquez was charged with the second-degree crimes on Feb. 19.

On March 9, Vasquez turned himself in to the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.

He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await his first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
