Brush Fire Set Intentionally In Bergen County, Man Charged: Prosecutor
An investigation by the Prosecutor's Office found a Newark man set the fire intentionally.
MOONACHIE, NJ — A 63-year-old Newark man was charged with arson after intentionally setting a fire, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
On Monday, Moonachie Police Department received a report of a brush fire in Moonachie, Musella said.
Officers found a large area of brush fully engulfed when they arrived. It was extinguished by the Moonachie Fire Department

An investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office found Mathew Awojobi set the fire intentionally, Musella said.
Mathew Awojobi was charged with second-degree aggravated arson, second-degree aggravated arson, second-degree causing or risking widespread injury or damage, and a fourth-degree failure to report a fire.

He was taken to Bergen County Jail before his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
