
Let the joy of music fill your holidays recalling fond traditions as the New Jersey Choral Society presents its annual holiday concert "Reflections of the Season" on Tuesday, December 16 at 7:30 pm at West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood.
This festive concert, conducted by Artistic Director/Conductor Dr. Patrick Chiu and Assistant Conductor Christopher Vehmas, features John Rutter’s bright and joyful contemporary masterpiece Magnificat, based on biblical canticles. Other uplifting holiday songs promising to bring you hope, joy and warmth include such favorites as Away in a Manger, Jingle Bells, The Holding Carol, Mary, Did You Know? and the lively O Have You Heard by NJ composer Dr. Patrick Finley. NJCS ensembles will also perform The Most Wonderful Time of the Year and O Magnum Mysterium by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina in honor of the 500th anniversary of his birth.
Artist in Residence Linda Sweetman Waters will accompany NJCS on the piano and organ along with an instrumental ensemble comprised of 14 musicians. The renowned Ridgewood soprano Kristen Plumley will appear as a guest soloist and several NJCS members will also sing solos.
Tickets are $30 for general admission and $25 for students and seniors. An additional $5 discount is offered for individuals with disabilities and up to three companions.
