Hello? Cell Phone Thefts In Glen Rock Lead To Arrest Of 13 -Person 'International Ring'
Police in Bergen County have worked with Homeland Security and other law enforcement to bring down a large cell phone theft ring.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Thefts of cell phone packages in and around Glen Rock helped lead to the arrest of an "international ring" involving at least 13 people, local police said this week.
The Glen Rock Police Department worked with Homeland Security, the FBI, New York City police, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and local police departments to investigate package thefts at homes in Glen Rock and the area, they said.
Last Tuesday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that 13 people were charged "as part of an international ring targeting cell phone shipments for theft," said the Glen Rock police.

"The defendants were part of an international and nationwide ring involved in the widespread theft of electronic device shipments from FedEx and other carriers," police said.
The ring identified valuable packages to steal by obtaining electronic information from FedEx and a cell phone carrier, and then bribing employees for delivery information, police said.
