Cell Tower Application Delayed

T-Mobile says they want a 125-foot-tall cell tower near the Ho-Ho-Kus border, but don't seem to mind waiting.

Ridgewood Zoning Board Secretary Tony Merlino confirmed Wednesday a won't be heard until the fall.

A meeting had been scheduled for Tuesday but T-Mobile cancelled, marking the umpteenth time they've pushed off a hearing in the last year. The mobile communications company has plans to erect a 125-foot tower at First Street and Barnett Place, near the Ho-Ho-Kus border.

Residents in the area have opposed the application, citing perceived safety issues, property value impacts, and perhaps most importantly, that improvement of coverage would be minimal.
