Dr. Oz Visits Ridgewood

Ridgewood is apparently a place favored by Dr. Oz. The popular surgeon with a television show was recently in the village filming an episode of his show. He wasn't just anywhere – the production crew on April 12 went to a well-manicured yellow home on Cottage Place, the residence of .

According to the village planning board member and council hopeful, because of the unique layout at his home, show runners thought it could appear to be three different sets. Among the guests were a family from Virginia, a young couple from Queens and a mother and her grown son from Ridgewood.

The epsisode, about healthy eating choices, aired this week. Mehmet Oz resides in nearby Cliffside Park, according to published news reports.

A producer did not respond to requests for comment.
