Enter Your Float Into GR's Fourth of July Parade

Independence Day is nearly upon us and the volunteers organizing the Glen Rock 4th of July Parade have been busy with the final touches. The committee is hoping Glen Rock citizens are ready to unveil the traditional floats for the parade.

The judging categories for the 4th of July parade this year include: best float, best decorated wagon, most spirited parade route party, most spirited entry, most patriotic entry and best dressed pet. Those interested in entering a float – and, if applicable, would like to know how to do it – should e-mail glenrockparade@gmail.com.

This year's theme is "Glen Rock Sports and Celebrities".

A mailing with a parade brochure and raffle tickets for the 2012 should be sent out in the first week in June, according to the committee.

This raffle is the sole fund raiser of the parade which pays for trucks, bands and other entertainers.

Prizes include: Weber gas grill from , gift cards, a painting by Glen Rock resident Marcia Rieff, autographed sports items, gift certificate from , and Ikea gift cards.
