Fixes at Village Hall Going Well, Officials Say
An August completion to Village Hall's flood-prone first floor still seems likely, officials said.
Construction to shore up against the is progressing well, officials told Patch this past weekend.
The main lobby has the tile down, the reception desk is back in its normal setting, and workers are continuing to reconstruct the various community rooms that have been pulverized by repeated flood events over the past decade.
Primarily, the work includes use of two different types of concrete blocks in the community rooms and hallway on the first floor. The blocks are five feet tall and greater in height than the flood waters of Irene and Floyd.

Community groups have complained they've been left without a meeting space due to the damage and subsequent destruction of the first floor.
Checking in at (and $380,000 in bond obligations), Ridgewood officials say the project should be completed by the end of August.
