Friday: 'Violence Interrupted' Film at Library

Ridgewood's best bands playing Hoboken showcase

1) It's the beginning at 7:30 p.m. with the awesome documentary "Violence Interrupters" premiering at the library. Robin Holmes, of the NYC Mission, will be speaking of gang violence in New York and what her organization does to change the institutions from within.

2) The Ridgewood boys football team, coming off three consecutive losses, will take on one of North Jersey's top teams, Wayne Hills. The game, which will be broadcast on MSG Varsity (Channel 14 on Cablevision’s iO), will be played in Wayne.

3) The on Friday at for a free show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Performances include Shostakovich's Festive Overture, Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, Sousa's Easter Monday on the White House Lawn and more.

4) Due to high interest in the "Ridgewood" scarves, the district says the manufacturer has extended the deadline for orders to Friday, Oct. 22. Proceeds go to RHS Cheerleading. More info here.

5) A few Ridgewood bands will be heating up Hoboken Friday night at Maxwells for the Trunk Rock Records showcase. Tickets are $10 to see Average Girl, Big Wilson River and Don't Upset the Bear.
