Glen Rock Pops, Fine Tuners Play at GRHS Sunday Night
The Glen Rock orchestra will perform classical music and traditional holiday music with some of Bergen's best youth string players

The Glen Rock Pops and The Fine Tuners of North Jersey join in a Musical Celebration on Sunday, December 11th at 3:00pm in the Auditorium at 600 Harristown Road. The program will include a variety of classical and popular seasonal selections.
Performing as guest artists at the afternoon event is The Fine Tuners of North Jersey, a string orchestra comprised of young musicians from eight neighboring towns within the adjacent Bergen County area. They will perform classical music and traditional holiday music. The group is under the direction of Arlene Locola, former string specialist in the Fort Lee public schools and actively involved in the Summer Music Academy within the Ridgewood Community School program. Jack Bird, a resident of Ridgewood is featured violin soloist. Another featured soloist and Ridgewood resident is Katy Wong, harpist.

Sean Ryan is Musical Director of the Glen Rock Pops. He is a graduate of The College of New Jersey with a B.A. in Music Education. He was named Founding Grand Master Emeritus of the Composers’ Guild, conducted a Master Class on musical composition for the Governor’s School of the Arts and wrote and performed many compositions with various ensembles on the TCNJ campus. He is also a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda Music National Honors Society. While at Paramus High School, Sean received the Ronald Kalman Scholarship, and the Louis Armstrong Jazz and John Philip Sousa Band Awards. He has performed with County, All State, Teaneck and Waldwick Community Bands and is now with the Paramus Community Orchestra. Both the Waldwick and Teaneck Bands have performed his compositions. As a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers and Publishers), he recently composed the soundtrack music for an independent film, which was recorded by the Pops. He currently teaches privately on various instruments and also gives music theory and composition lessons.
