Heidi’s Bavarian Bakery Nearing Opening

A newly-placed sign at 43 E. Ridgewood Ave. says it all – the long-awaited authentic German Bavarian bakery "Heidi's Finest" will soon be opening its doors to the Ridgewood public.

Workers were busy transforming the space on Monday but found a brief minute to tell Patch they expect to be finished with renovations in the next few weeks.

Multiple sources said the owners are a German couple who scoured the country for the perfect location for the bakery, and settling on Ridgewood. They're moving their family to the area from Germany, the sources said.

The bakery will serve breads, cakes and pastries.

The strip on E. Ridgewood Ave. between Oak and Chestnut is undergoing something of a transition. Montclair hotspots , have already opened and should be ready to whip up brunch for the village in the early fall.
