Jackknifed Fuel Tanker Jams Up Monday Traffic In Glen Rock
The tanker truck overturned on Route 208 near the Fair Lawn and Glen Rock border. No injuries were reported, but fuel was spilled.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — A jackknifed, and overturned, fuel tanker jammed up traffic and spilled fuel on Route 208 in Glen Rock on Monday evening.
Glen Rock police arrived at the scene of Route 208 South near the Harristown Road offramp at 4:04 p.m. on Monday. Upon arrival, officers found that a fuel truck had struck the back of a truck and carrier combo, causing the fuel truck to jackknife and spill fuel onto the highway.

The highway was shut down shortly after, causing a traffic backup just prior to rush hour on Monday. Police said the highway reopened around 5:45 p.m., but traffic problems continued to linger.
There were no reported injuries, and Department of Transportation officials were expected on the scene to begin cleanup efforts shortly after the wreck was reported, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.
