Boy suffered suffered multiple injuries in accident at Godwin and Lincoln Avenue Tuesday morning, police said

A 13-year-old boy was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson suffering from multiple injuries after his bicycle struck a landscaping truck trailer Tuesday at around 7:30 a.m., according to police.
According to a news release sent by the Ridgewood Police Department just before noon, the landscaping truck was traveling east on Godwin Avenue when the boy, riding on the side walk next to the vehicle, "suddenly veered into the truck and trailer."
The boy was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson by the Ridgewood Ambulance Corps. Detective Christopher McDowell said the boy suffered multiple injuries, including injuries to the head. The extent of injuries is currently unknown, police said in the release. No summons was issued to the driver of the landscaping truck.

This is the second juvenile bicyclist to suffer an injury in a week. Last Monday, a 17-year-old boy was struck by a car while crossing N. Irving and E. Ridgewood Avenue.
The driver reported the bicyclist rode into the crosswalk at the last second and he did not have time to stop, Police Chief John Ward told Patch late last week. Riding bicycles in a crosswalk is illegal, Ward noted. No summonses were issued in this particular strike, police said.
