La Strada Closes, Forms Partnership with Chestnut Deli
Former business rivals will be pairing up to offer catering options.

After only a few months in Ridgewood, Eugene Myer last week closed well-regarded La Strada Gourmet Deli. But he's sticking around, teaming up with Billy and Luann Woods of Chestnut Deli to help with the catering operation.
"He's been around for such a long time with such a great reputation, I couldn't see him being done," Billy Woods said Monday.
Myer will bring along some of his signature meals to help with the catering, Woods said. They have plans to incorporate more Italian cold cuts and other items into the menu. Soon, the store will have popular Vita Mia raviolis, Woods said.

Myer said there were "personal reasons" for closing La Strada, which had relocated from Midland Park in the fall. Partnering with Chestnut Deli is a good opportunity, he said.
"We're all kind of in the same boat," Myer told Patch. "We've all got to work together."
