Major Bergen County Restaurant Shuts Suddenly, 2 Years After Opening

A Bergen County restaurant closed suddenly this month, a mall spokesperson confirmed.

PARAMUS, NJ — A 30,000-square-foot dining and entertainment venue in Bergen County closed suddenly this month.

Pinstripes, the Italian bistro and entertainment venue, opened its first New Jersey location in February of 2024. They were located at the Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, off Route 17.

At the time, representatives for the chain — which described itself as an "eatertainment" venue — said it planned to expand from 15 to 20 stores across the country.

Instead, on Sept. 8, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The same day, they closed 10 of 18 stores, reported USA Today.

A spokesperson for Garden State Plaza confirmed last week that the Paramus location had closed, but did not provide any details on the future of the building.

Pinstripes did not respond to several inquiries from Patch.

Customers who posted online reviews had said they enjoyed the location.

"Just tried the special breakfast buffet with 2 friends and OMG every single thing I tasted was delicious!" wrote a woman who said she lived in Hackensack. "High quality shrimp cocktail, wonderful smoked salmon, breakfast pizza that melted in my mouth, sautéed Brussel sprouts that were so good."

Their website now lists the eight remaining stores, none in the Northeast. Find out more here.
