Man Accused Of Child Endangerment, Having Cocaine In Bergen County: PD

ROCHELLE PARK, NJ — A 33-year-old man, who was spotted by police at a hotel bar with a young child, was arrested after he tried to dispose of a bag of cocaine, according to the Rochelle Park Police Department.

Sharod Gandy was charged with possession of CDS with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to distribute, failure to turn CDS over to police, and child endangerment.

Gandy first walked into police headquarters the previous day to file a police report. While there, officers discovered that Gandy had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, Rochelle Police said.

The next day, Officer Chris Kiszka later spotted Gandy at a local hotel bar with a young child. Police say Gandy also tried to discard a bag of cocaine.

He was jailed at the Bergen County Jail on the NCIC warrant issued by the Bergen County Sheriff's Department. The child is now with guardians.
