Man Concocted Ruse To Steal Whiskey in Glen Rock, Police Say
A man talked to a Bottle King cashier and left with a pricey bottle of whiskey in an elaborate ruse, according to a Glen Rock police report.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — A man walked out of a Glen Rock liquor store with a pricey bottle of whiskey as part of a ruse, police say.
Police in Glen Rock say that the manager of Bottle King Liquors contacted them around 12:22 p.m. on June 30 to report shoplifting.
The manager said that about 40 minutes earlier, a man, possibly in his sixties,"approached a cashier claiming he had purchased the whiskey the day prior and needed to obtain a gift bag for the bottle. The man purchased the gift bag and cigarettes and left the store after paying."

After the man walked out with the Hibiki Harmony whiskey, valued at $99.99, the manager realized the whiskey hadn't been bought there.
Police are reviewing video to find the man.
