Man Loses $1,000 In Scam In Glen Rock: Police Blotter

Two scams were reported in the past week in Glen Rock, Police Sgt. Michael Trover said.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — In the past week, two scams were reported out of Glen Rock. The following information was summarized from records of the Glen Rock Police Department.

Aug. 1: A Glen Rock resident reported that he was the victim of a scam, in which he sent $1,000 in gift cards to a suspect purporting to be his boss. The detective bureau is investigating, Glen Rock Police Sgt. Michael Trover said.

Aug. 5: A Glen Rock resident reported that he was the victim of a scam, in which he sent a "large sum of money" via wire transfer and Bitcoin to a suspect purporting to be a member of Geek Squad Tech Support. The detective bureau is investigating, police said.
