More Teens Win National Merit Scholarships In Bergen County: See Their College Choices
More kids in Bergen County will get a four-year National Merit Scholarship to college in fall. Find out where they're going.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Several more National Merit Scholarship winners from Bergen County were announced Monday, giving the top graduating seniors a financial boost in college.
The competitive annual scholarships — often as much as $2,500 per year — are available for all four years of college. Thousands of prospective award-winners are identified during their junior year of high school based on their PSAT scores. Then, they submit recommendations, an essay, and more.
Some of the scholarships are provided by the nonprofit foundation, while others are provided by the students' intended colleges, and others are sponsored by a corporation.

In May and June, a slew of Bergen County winners were announced, as well as their intended colleges and career goals. (See a previous story linked here.)
This week, the nonprofit announced two more. winners in Bergen County whose scholarships will be specifically provided by the schools they attend in fall.

School: Regis High School, New York, NY
College: Case Western Reserve University
Case Western Reserve University, located in Cleveland, Ohio, offers approximately 6,000 undergraduate students high-impact experience-based education in nearly 100 disciplines across four schools: arts and sciences, engineering, management, and nursing. As early as their first year, students conduct research, find high-quality internships and study abroad opportunities with faculty, and gain access to world-class neighboring institutions.

Rutgers, which traces its beginnings to 1766, is the state university of New Jersey, enrolling undergraduates at 13 colleges (suburban and urban settings of 110 to 8,200 students) in New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden. Most of the colleges are residential. They offer study in a large variety of arts and science fields and many professional areas, such as Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing, Environmental Sciences, Agriculture, and Performing Arts. Graduate degrees are offered in numerous fields.
