RIDGEWOOD AND GLEN ROCK, NJ — Each year, after testing, applications, and several rounds of culling, a limited number of high-achieving students in New Jersey win scholarships of up to $2,500 per year from the nonprofit National Merit Scholarship Foundation.
The scholarships, which are no-strings-attached for each of four years of college, come from the Foundation, or a corporation, or sometimes the students' intended colleges.
