New Baseball Scoreboard Coming to Vets Field
Board should be ready for upcoming RHS varsity baseball season.

The Ridgewood Village Council expressed support for the erection of a baseball scoreboard at Veterans Field.
According to resident Chip Conklin, the scoreboard will be placed in left-center field behind the track and in front of the Ho-Ho-Kus Brook. The $3,500 gift should be ready for the upcoming RHS varsity baseball season. It will also be used for RBSA games, he said.
Concerns of damage in flood events should be minimal, Conklin said. At eight feet above ground, only a flood twice the magnitude of Ridgewood's largest event could damage the board. The village has not experienced flooding at that spot above four feet, he said.

The RBSA will likely be responsible for maintenance, Conklin said.
"Great addition, [it's] great what you do for the town and great for the kids," said Mayor Paul Aronsohn.
