Parent Calls 911 From Glen Rock Parking Lot After Child Is Assaulted: Police

A parent who was driving to the hospital with their child, injured in an assault, pulled over in Glen Rock to call 911, police said.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — A parent driving to the hospital with their child — who had just been injured in an assault — pulled over in Glen Rock to call 911 on Friday, police said.

Police said that shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday, police and and an ambulance were sent to a parking lot in the Central Business District on Glen
Avenue near Rock Road, responding to a report of an injured child.

The parent told police they were driving their injured child to the hospital "following an assault which had occurred in another jurisdiction," police noted.

When the child's condition worsened, the parent pulled over and called 9-1-1 for help.

Police and EMT’s provided first aid and the child was taken via ambulance to the Valley Hospital in Paramus, police said.

Police in the jurisdiction where the assault occurred were notified, police said.

Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said he could not give out more details about the assault, its location, or the minor, for confidentiality reasons.
