Poll: How do you Feel About the Ridgewood Municipal Tax Hike?

Council introduced its $45 million budget Tuesday night.

The council on Tuesday introduced the 2012 municipal budget which will increase taxes by 3.79 percent, largely attributed by officials to unforseen storm costs and record tax appeals.

To remedy the situation, the council will be and using FEMA refunds to offset the figure in 2013. The average resident with a house valued at $794,550 will see a $131 municipal tax increase, pushing the total municipal tax average to about $4,000.

No layoffs are planned for 2012 and the village is actively working on response along with a revised plan to debris/garbage pickups.
