Raymond's in Ridgewood, Montclair Ordered to Pay More than $300K in Back Wages to Workers

An investigation found that the owners of Raymond's did not pay their staff for overtime or pay correct wages to tipped employees.

Raymond’s in Ridgewood and Montclair must pay over $300,000 in back wages to its workers after an investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Northern New Jersey Wage and Hour District Office found the restaurants didn’t pay their staff for overtime or pay tipped employees the correct wage.

Eighty-four employees of Raymond’s in Ridgewood must receive $100,048, while 76 employees at Raymond’s in Montclair are due $225,486, NorthJersey.com reported.

According to its website, Raymond Badach first opened the Montclair location in 1989 and was joined by Joanne Ricci, who became a partner in 2004. They opened the Ridgewood location in 2012.

Badach and Ricci have agreed to make the payments and are in the process of doing so, according to NorthJersey.com.
