Report: RHS Bridge Repairs Hit Snag

It's unclear when the controversial bridge at the high school will reopen, according to a report on northjersey.com

Construction to has been delayed again, according to a report on northjersey.com.

The bridge was closed in November of 2011 after an engineer determined structural problems had worsened at the bridge, first found to be damaged in a 2009 report.

Zenith Construction Co. to renovate bridge supports and relocate the walkway, among other changes.

The district opened the bridge for a weekend during April for , just before construction was scheduled. A rainy week pushed back construction further.

The northjersey.com article states there's no timeframe as to when the bridge will re-open; the district's architecture and engineering firm, LAN Associates, will be assisting with the contractor, according to the article.

Many believe the bridge acts as a , exacerbating existing flood problems in the area. The district earlier this year reviewed options to raise the bridge but found them cost prohibitive.
