RHS Student Wins Yet Another Environmental Award

Victoria Pan's parents must be running out of empty wall space to hang plaques by now. The senior received another award for her environmental efforts on Thursday.

Pan, who has spearheaded numerous environmental causes like the Students Saving Energy (SSE) at Ridgewood High School, was distinguished as an honorable mention winner at the Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards.

"It was a huge honor," she said in an e-mail. 

Pan has also been and and environmental activism and education efforts.

Beyond turning the lights off at RHS (which has saved over $10,000), Pan has worked to reduce plastics consumption in the high school and has extended her message to a larger audience, s to consider smarter energy consumption practices.
