Ridgewood Council Seeks Volunteers For Boards, Committee

Ridgewood Village Council is reminding residents that the deadline is approaching to apply to serve on one of three boards or committees.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The Ridgewood Village Council is seeking residents interested in serving as volunteer members of one of three village boards or committees: Project Pride, The Ridgewood Green Team Advisory Committee, and Green Ridgewood, the village said on its website.

The council reminds residents that the Aug. 12 deadline is fast approaching, and anyone interested should fill out a Citizen Volunteer Leadership form on the village website, and send it along with a cover letter, a biography and resume.

Residents can send the form to Deputy Village Clerk Eileen Young at 131 North Maple Avenue in Ridgewood, or email it to eyoung@ridgewoodnj.net with the subject line – Volunteer for Board/Committee.

The Project Pride committee, the village said, will work with the Council, Village Management, residents and stakeholders to initiate improvements to foster a visually appealing environment throughout the village. Project Pride is responsible for Central Business District seasonal plantings, which includes budget preparation and request, and volunteer recruitment. The committee is comprised of resident members; three representatives engaged in landscaping, gardening or horticulture; and a member from New Jersey garden club, the Women Gardeners of Ridgewood.

The Ridgewood Green Team Advisory Committee consists of residents interested in making the village a "sustainable community." Each member has achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification, or has experience with sustainable practices or obtaining grants for sustainable purposes, the village said.
