Ridgewood Resident Defrauded Out Of $26K: Police

Someone the account owner did not know gained access to it, police said.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — More than $26,000 in fraudulent transactions were reported on a Ridgewood resident's bank account recently, police said.

A Walthery Avenue resident reported the bank fraud to authorities June 7, police said.

The victim said that someone they did not know got access to his account and made nearly $26,500 in fraudulent transactions on his account, police said.

The victim notified Bank of America's Fraud Department, who is investigating the incident, authorities said.
