Ridgewood Running Company Jogging to New Location

Store not venturing far, moving just down E. Ridgewood Ave.

The plans on ditching the narrow, set-back storefront on upper E. Ridgewood Avenue for hopefully greener pastures.

The store will be occupying what used to be half of Arthur Groom's on the bottom of East Ridgewood Avenue, manager Erik LaPointe told Patch on Thursday. The move is expected to take place in August, though no date is set in stone.

"It's just under double the size," he said of the new location. expanded its store during boom times but split up the location into two separate storefronts in 2011.

The store, part of a national chain owned in part by Finish Line but operated largely independently, won't be changing too much. The same high level of service will remain and the product line won't differ much, he said.

What does largely change is layout, the manager said.

LaPointe said with the new space, inventory won't be crammed together. Shoes, not surprisingly the best seller at the RRC, will be displayed on a nice rounded wall, he added.

The landlord told Patch he's unsure what will take its place.
