GLEN ROCK, NJ — In the past week, three scams, a package theft, a car fire, and a man seen urinating in public were reported out of Glen Rock. The following information was summarized from records of the Glen Rock Police Department.
July 11: A Glen Rock resident reported that a 2022 BMW was fraudulently registered in their name. The victim learned of this when the received a notice of a summons issued to the vehicle in Rockville. The detective bureau is reviewing the matter, police said.
July 14: A Glen Rock resident was notified by their bank of a suspicious credit card charge, in the amount of $100, that was made at a Burlington convenience store. The complainant said that they had not made the charge, and that the account was locked until a new credit card could be issued.

Furthermore, another Glen Rock resident reported that an unknown individual used a fraudulent email to impersonate them, open a wireless account and purchase a tablet computer in their name. A Green Dot Bank debit card was also ordered. All of the accounts in question were closed, and the detective bureau is attempting to obtain further information about them.
A Ferndale Avenue resident reported that Apple AirPods had been taken from a package delivered to their front door. The resident was home at the time of delivery yet was unable to immediately retrieve the package; they did not observe any person or vehicle in the area. Other packages delivered to nearby homes were untouched, police said, and whether the item was removed from the package in transit or from the resident's doorstep remains unknown.

July 15: Officers, along with Glen Rock firefighters, responded to a car fire on New Jersey Route 208 northbound at the Harristown Road exit ramp. The driver and infant child were able to safely get out of the burning vehicle uninjured. Route 208 was shut down for just under an hour while firefighters extinguished the fire on the vehicle, which was towed away, police said.
A Glen Rock man called 911, claiming he was involved in a dispute with a man who was urinating next to a dumpster in a gas station parking lot near South Maple and Highwood Avenues. After the men argued, the man who allegedly peed near the dumpster drove away in a Toyota Avalon, which was no longer in the area when officers arrived. No other witnesses were identified, nor were any other reports received, police said.
