GLEN ROCK, NJ - A “small fire” was extinguished Wednesday evening at a Glen Rock NJ Transit station, fire officials said.

A smoke condition was reported at around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the Glen Rock - Boro Hall station, the Glen Rock Fire Department said in a statement.

At the scene, Glen Rock fire personnel extinguished a small fire in the wheel housing of one of the train cars, fire officials said.

Glen Rock police, NJ Transit police and NJ Transit rail operations assisted at the scene, fire officials said.

The fire prompted NJ Transit delays up to nearly an hour on the Main-Bergen County Line, as well as a road closure on Rock and Harding Plaza roads, per a Nixle alert from Glen Rock police.
