Teen Killed In 2-Car Crash Last Weekend Was Bergen County Student

A Bergen County girl who was set to turn 18 next month was the victim in a two-car crash in Clifton last weekend.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Friends are raising funds for a teen who died in a two-car crash near the Clifton/Paterson border last Sunday.

Lodi High School senior Ezra Sanchez, who was killed in the early morning crash on March 2, would have turned 18 next month, according to a GoFundMe set up for her.

"Today, our hearts ache for Jyen and her family as they face an unimaginable loss," says the fundraiser. "On March 2, 2025, Ezra Sanchez was tragically killed in a car accident. While heaven may have gained an angel, her family has lost their beloved, loving daughter, sister, cousin, and dear friend."

The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. that Sunday at the intersection of Lakeview and Crooks avenues, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office and Clifton Police said. A 2008 Honda Accord and a 2011 Mazda CX-9 collided, said officials.

The fundraiser says, "Ezra was a loving, outgoing 17-year-old ... This is shocking and tragic. We are setting up this GoFundMe to help relieve the burden of costs for this family. Any and all donations are appreciated ... Manilyn, Ezra’s mother will be handling the funds on behalf of the family."
