This Week: Joint Budget Discussion, Housing Development Discussions

Monday

The Ridgewood Board of Education and the Village Council will jointly meet for school officials to provide a budget overview. The tentative school budget checks in at a 2 percent increase, or $203 per average assessed homeowner. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Ridgewood Education Center.

Tuesday

The Ridgewood Planning Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. to appoint expert witnesses for the Valley Hospital expansion hearings. In addition, it will discuss the multi-family housing developments and a related "transportation improvement district" designation.

The Glen Rock Environmental Commission also meets at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday

Ridgewood's top author, Harlan Coben, will be at Bookends signing copies of his latest novel, Six Years. Coben will be at Bookends at 7 p.m.

Thursday

The Glen Rock school board will be voting on a new student activity fee policy at 8 p.m. New superintendent Paula Valenti will be there for her first official board meeting (she started March 18 but attended prior meetings).

Friday

The "Friends" booksale will again be taking place at the Glen Rock Public Library.
