NJ Transit Train Strikes Pedestrian In Bergen County Wednesday
A NJ Transit train struck a pedestrian in Bergen County Wednesday morning, canceling some routes and delaying others.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A NJ Transit train line through Bergen County was temporarily suspended Wednesday morning after a person was struck in the early hours, the transit agency confirmed.
The train that hit the pedestrian was not in service, and was being moved along the Bergen County Line, a spokesperson said.
It struck the person around 5:33 a.m. near Plauderville Station in Garfield.

"The extent of injuries is not known," said a spokesperson. "There were no customers on board and there were no other injuries reported to the crew. New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation."
Some trains were still delayed later in the morning, but others were close to schedule.

The agency Tweeted, "Bergen County Line rail service is operating on or close to schedule with residual delays to trains already enroute following an earlier pedestrian strike near Plauderville."
