Valley Testimony Begins, GR BOE Activity Fee Talks Continue This Week

Monday

The Glen Rock Board of Education will be meeting at 8 p.m. to discuss, among other things, a controversial change to its participation/activity fee policy.

Ridgewood's school officials will also be meeting Monday night. There doesn't appear to be much on the village school board's agenda. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.

At a special public meeting on Monday night, Ridgewood's planning board will be hiring expert witnesses for the expansion hearing of Valley Hospital.

Tuesday

Testimony of the Valley Hospital expansion hearing begins at B.F. Middle School at 7:30 p.m. The hospital is expected to have its architect and planner testify on the latest plans.

Glen Rock's planning board will also meet for a work session at 7:30 p.m. The shade tree advisory committee – which has been told trees will be planted in 2013 by the borough – meets at 7:15 p.m.

Wednesday

The Ridgewood Village Council meets at 7:30 to discuss a financial oversight board, the potential ban of smoking in various parts of the village, and an RFP as part of the chamber of commerce's parking garage plan.

The Glen Rock zoning board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. at Borough Hall.

Prolific Twitter user and author Kelly Oxford will be at Bookends signing copies of her new novel at 7:00 p.m.

Thursday

Friday

The Ridgewood Concert Band will be playing at West Side Presbyterian at 7:30 p.m. Paul Van Ness is the featured soloist, on piano; and Michael Parloff is the guest conductor. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniros and $7 for students.

Professional wrestler Booker T will be at Bookends signing copies of his latest book, From Prison to Promise, at 4:30 p.m.
