Video Of Bergen County Teens Performing For Stuffed Animals Goes Viral, Impresses 'Snooki'

Even "Snooki" was impressed by what these Bergen County student actors did in their video.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — When a group of theater kids is rehearsing for their new show but they're not quite ready for prime time, whom do they "show" first?

Their childhood stuffed animals, of course.

The River Dell High School Drama Club, in Oradell, recently posted a video of themselves performing their last rehearsal before a row of stuffed animals in seats.

Something about the clip struck a nerve with nearly half a million people. It might have been the Abba song, or perhaps the lighting.

486,000 people "liked" the video — including "Snooki" from Jersey Shore.

"Andy would have loved this," she commented.

Another fan opined that performing for their stuffies was only fair: "No but they watched you run lines and hit the notes wonky in your room for weeks they deserve to see the finished result."

The play they performed last weekend was not as lighthearted: "The Laramie Project," about the aftermath of the murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay student at the University of Wyoming. Shepard was killed in Colorado in 1998. A story in the Run Down, a River Dell High School publication, explored the themes of the show.

River Dell High School serves kids in the Bergen County towns of River Edge and Oradell.
