Woman Tried Leaving Gas Station With Nozzle In Car: Police
The woman was at the Exxon station on Maple Avenue when she got into an argument with the gas station attendant.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — A woman tried leaving a borough gas station with the gas nozzle still inside her vehicle Friday night, police said.
Police went to the Exxon gas station on Maple Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. after a 25-year-old woman tried purchasing $15 worth of gas and tried to pay with a credit card that was declined, said Chief Dean Ackermann.
An employee was willing to let the woman leave to get money, but requested that she leave her driver's license with him if she did because he would be financially responsible to his boss if she did not come back, Ackermann said.

The woman refused and argued with the man. She tried to drive off with the gas nozzle still attached to her vehicle, damaging the gas pump, Ackermann said.
The station's owner spoke with the woman and gave the woman a chance to pay for the damages by Friday in lieu of prosecution for criminal mischief.
