Brock Achieves Four-Year Goal; Nets Over 1000 Points

It's taken Kate Brock four years to reach a personal goal and on Friday afternoon she joined a handful of River Dell elite to net 1000 career varsity points.

“It’s been a goal of mine since freshman year,” Brock said. “It wasn’t until last year that I realized I was close. It’s an important individual accomplishment.”

The 6'1" forward nabbed the rebound low in the posts for a quick lay-up to put the Lady Hawks on the board in the 5th place consolation round of the Lady Hawks Holiday Hoop Jam against the Ridgewood Maroons.

Brock entered the Oradell gymnasium one point shy of hitting the milestone after picking up 29 points during against North Bergen. And while River Dell fell to the mighty Maroons 42-28, Brock earned a team-high 14 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks all while constantly being double-teamed. 

The last Lady Hawk to hit over 1,000 career varsity points was who netted 1,000 points in 2006 and surpassed that in 2007 with varsity points.
